About Client:

Client was established since 1998, they developed document management, project collaboration and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, supporting their customers at every step of the journey.

Client is on a huge growth trajectory - they have double in size since 2014! The Product Manager's job has been previously done by the CTO, but due to the rapid expansion, they are now wanting to build a team of Product Managers, starting with just one and growing until there is a separate Product Manager for each discreet area of the product. The Product Manager will be engaging with customers and the market, and relaying their findings to the in-house development team.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with an Agile delivery team to deliver B2B software products used by the multiple enterprise stakeholders across the construction lifecycle

Work directly with customers, customer account managers and business stakeholders to gain insight customer needs and the value in solving them;
Assume responsibility for strategy, road-mapping and product backlog within one or more product areas across growing portfolio of product offerings;
Report to and meet regularly with CTO, business stakeholders and other Product Managers to present and justify product decisions;
Maintain knowledge of the competitor landscape and evaluate product propositions against existing competitor solutions
;
Work closely with Marketing to ensure current and future product benefits are clearly communicated and targeted;

Key Skills:
Have an inherent curiosity, be tenacious and have a desire to develop solutions which support a transformation mandated within our industry;
Be an excellent communicator with a proven focus on the customer and great stakeholder management skills;
Ideally have subject matter and/or software product expertise in one or more of:
Construction information management;
Retail property portfolio development and maintenance;
Have software product management and/or business analysis experience and some experience working with development teams;
Be commercial in nature, and understand how to align, value and prioritise potential solutions, both with respect to our business and our customer’s and will have the ability to negotiate with stakeholders to ensure solutions are optimal;
Take an objective view of customer requirements, and back this up with supporting evidence where challenged;
Communicate customer needs, in the form of user stories and acceptance tests, to all stakeholders in the development lifecycle and represent the customer fully in this process;
Have the skills to create a sound business case for the developments proposed;
Demonstrate good judgement;
Be able to align product vision to company strategy and know how to how to generate customer value and advantage over competitors;
Have a passion for creating great products and solving customer needs;

Below are non-negotiable requirements for this role:

Understanding of the software development lifecycle
The successful candidate will be liaising closely with the dev team, so an understanding of Scrum methodology, and ways of phrasing things in "developer speak" would be essential;

Industry knowledge
An essential part of this role is conducting market research and communicating with Group BC’s customers. To relate to the customer’s pain points and relay these to the dev team effectively, the candidates will need to be commercially savvy and understand the industry.

Previous experience in the capacity of Product Manager.
This is a senior level role, so the candidate will be expected to hit the ground running.

Interview process:
A screening TI with a member of the team – possibly the Business Analyst.
F2F interview with the CTO
2nd F2F - culture fit check. There might be a presentation element, but this has not been decided yet.

Due to the senior level of the role, the feedback timescales might be slightly elongated to ensure that the senior team members in the office are able to review each application properly.
