Lecturer in Media

to start end of August '17

up to £33,175 p.a.

They are looking for a dynamic and creative practitioner to deliver across a variety of Media courses from level 2 to 5. You will be teaching on a range of UAL and BTEC Creative Media qualifications, working within a highly motivated team, to contribute to the continued success of the department.

Applicants will most likely have industry experience as well as a relevant academic and/or professional qualification in the subject area.

As well as being qualified in a relevant subject it would be useful, but not imperative that you have a recognised teaching qualification. If you do not hold a teaching qualification then you will need to show a willingness to undertake appropriate training, for which support will be given.

An understanding of key media production techniques and processes is essential. You will need to have experience with any or all of the following software: Adobe CC suite (preferably Premiere, After Affects & Photoshop), and if you have proficiency with gaming software such as UDK, Maya, Unity, and Stingray this would be an added advantage. A good knowledge of a range of cameras and supporting equipment is essential.

You will need to be highly organised and flexible in your approach to work. You will enjoy a challenge, and ideally have experience of working within a team. You should have a passion for working with people of all ages, especially young adults and school leavers. You will have a high level of interpersonal, motivational, communication and organisation skills.

A commitment to student learning and attainment is essential
