Our client prides themselves on a philosophy of supporting individuals to be the best that they can be, by developing each individual’s potential; and right now, our client is looking for an enthusiastic and empathetic individual to join their team of carers in Barking as their Finance and Admin Officer.

The primary task of this role will have you working closely at all times with the Registered Manager, to provide a comprehensive Finance, administrative and clerical support service to our client, in order to enable the achievement of good outcomes for service users; and to facilitate the delivery of quality customer care to service users, carers, external agencies / organisations and all other stakeholders.

In this role, your other duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerised accounting system.
  • Maintain the computerised accounting system.
  • Assist with budget preparation if and when necessary.
  • Implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare quarterly reports and report on variances Set up employees files.
  • Verify timesheets and hours worked.
  • Calculate employee wages / salaries, deductions and contributions.
  • To assist and contribute generally to office coordination, participate in the organisation and improvement of the service and contribute to team and service development.
  • To communicate effectively with all stake holders both within the company and externally on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate must have experience in:

 

  • 3 years experience of Finance, clerical and administrative work in an office environment.
  • Education to Degree Level.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office software packages including Excel.
  • Proficient knowledge of operating computerised finance and accounting systems eg, VT, Sage etc
  • Positive and professional attitude essential with a "can do" attitude – adaptable attitude, team player
  • Must be numerate
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • strong organisational skills with attention to details
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity. Must show respect and empathy for people with learning disabilities.

Salary Range: £20,000

Hours: Minimum of 35 hours a week.
