Site Caretaker
Part Time Permanent - Salary / Grade: D
30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Required July if possible (or September 2017)
The Governing Body of Victoria Road Primary School are looking to appoint a reliable, conscientious school caretaker to join our existing team, including two cleaners.
We are looking for: -
- Someone who is enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Have experience of a sound DIY / Strong maintenance background
- Are able to repair minor repairs to a high standard
- Are able to meet with external contractors, overseeing their work to ensure good value for money is achieved
- Are able to undertake day to day general internal and external maintenance of premises, boilers and machinery, for which training will be provided
- Are responsible for site security (opening and closing). As a key holder, you are part of the call out system.
- Can liaise with the City Council, Nursery and Property and Compliance with the PIC (Person in Charge) book
- Have a good awareness of Health and Safety issues, complete and record checks and are willing to undergo appropriate training
- Is a good team player
- Would understand a school environment
- Skills in electricity, or plumbing or woodwork would be useful. There are cleaning duties attached to this role and you will be expected to manage a small team of cleaners

Hours are flexible, but 0700 - 930, 1430 - 1800 Monday to Friday during term time is the expectation. All holidays will need to be taken during the school holidays.
