Role Profile:
The engineering design team is a multidiscipline team responsible for umbilical product design, associated hardware design and all engineering deliverables for commercial projects. Technical authorities within this team provide engineering guidance and support to other functions within the local and global business units, and other parts of the group.
This role provides technical support services to Projects, Tendering activity and internal and external clients. Provision of engineering services and completion of tasks to enable the continued development of the core umbilical products is a central priority of the role. The PES Engineer would also ensure work is completed according to agreed guidelines, design rules and procedures in a timely and efficient manner while considering company QHS&E objectives
Main Duties * Provision of technical support services to Projects, Tendering and internal and external clients. * Provision of engineering services and completion of tasks to validate the performance of umbilical product on commercial projects. * Ensuring work is completed according to agreed guidelines, design rules and procedures in a timely and efficient manner. * Ensure that department and company QHS&E objectives and targets are met. * Assistance with tasks associated with department administration and project management. * Generation, checking and highlighting required updates of design rules associated with the job function. * Provide guidance to the manufacturing unit. * Provide support to Business Development. * Maintain and develop supplier and material qualification requirements.
The person
* Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical or subsea engineering discipline is prefered. * Experience in subsea engineering and the wider oil and gas industry is beneficial but not essential. Candidates should have experience in supporting the development of mechanically focused products or applications in a project related environment as a minimum. * Proficient in Microsoft office tools such as word, excel and PowerPoint is essential along with suitable engineering tools such as MathCAD or equivalent. * Experience in a design tool/software package is not required but very beneficial, such as: AutoCAD, Inventor * Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Tools is also not required but very beneficial, such as: Ansys, Abaqus, Orcaflex. * Familiar with industry standards relating to subsea or similar mechanically focus products would an essential requirement.
Experienced engineers who can hit the ground running or graduates with some industrial experience who want to develop a career in the global subsea industry sector would be considered and the package commensurate with experience.
