Our international client is a market leader operating within the railway and mining industries.
Our client develops, designs and builds advanced measurement and control equipment, mostly for passenger and heavy freight railways.
We seek a Project Engineer to join their expanding UK team.
Project Engineer Duties
*Lead projects tackling complex engineering problems.
*Lead and support the day to day management of major projects.
*Work closely alongside the project and delivery team in order to achieve on time delivery of projects at the right quality and cost.
*Provide the liaison between the company's production, design departments and sub-contractors.
*Act as the technical and/or commercial interface with key clients.
Project Engineer Key Experience
*Significant commercial experience working in complex Railway engineering projects including phases of projects of design, approvals, procurement, contract administration, reporting and closure.
*Experience in the management of projects to meet critical deadlines.
Project Engineer Desired Experience
*Knowledge and experience of Railway vehicle technology and engineering.
*Experience in detailed design, implementation and testing of systems.
*Understanding of client's Programme & Project Delivery Processes.
*Possess knowledge of and experience in the use of computers in technical applications.
*Familiar with the use of strict quality processes.
*Experience dealing with the commercial aspects of projects.
*Experienced in monitoring client interface and relationships.
Qualifications
*A Mechanical, Electronics or Software Engineering degree from a UK University, or qualification of equivalent standard from a UK or overseas university.
*Qualifications must confer eligibility for membership to a UK Engineering professional body such as IMechE.
Candidates that have held a similar position and have experience working in a rail maintenance depot environment along with the above qualification will be seen as ideal.
