Within our Insurance business, the Chief Operating Office acts as a 'Centre of Excellence' for change management, data, business analysis and continuous improvement. The team also design and manage Insurance's strategy in partnership with the Group Strategy function.
We are looking for a number of experienced data analyst's based across either Edinburgh or London, to join our growing Data Analytics and Management team within the Insurance Chief Operating Office. The role offers huge breadth and variety of work along with opportunities to interact across the Insurance business and wider group. Leveraging our data and technology capabilities to drive value for the business, our first steps focus on stabilising our data landscape, developing capabilities and trialling test and learn projects to deliver tactical analysis to problems statements.
This is a stand out opportunity for a technically-minded data professional looking to broaden their data knowledge and move into a key role that supports the division's continued success.
You'll work to understand the lineage of Insurance data: how it moves through the organisation from golden or trusted sources through to the analysis and reports produced. You'll also support critical data audit work, which has recently expanded to cover the majority of Insurance data repositories, helping to identify and document data issues in in line with the Group's data quality framework. Beyond this, there is growing demand from projects for data management support, ranging from data architecture queries to providing data extracts to inform strategic decisions or support day to day operations. You'll therefore work hand in hand with data architects on such project engagement work.
To be successful in this role, you'll be passionate about data and analytics, have an aptitude for problem solving, and use that approach to provide simple and effective solutions. You must be able to communicate effectively, have an eye for detail and demonstrate a restless curiosity. The individual must not be afraid to challenge status quo and we actively encourage innovative approaches to the way we do things.
You'll demonstrate a solid understanding of data structure and databases, excellent numeracy skills with some understanding of statistical methods an advantage. You'll be a collaborative worker, have Change Management experience and a good Organisational Awareness & Market Context
Key responsibilities include obtaining and presenting high level analysis of key metrics in conjunction with wider Group contacts, working with architects to define solutions and delivery vehicles for productionising solutions, obtaining data extracts, validating and assessing the quality of our data & producing dashboards to track data quality.
You'll assess the benefits of implementing new data activities whilst continually developing and contributing to the overall data knowledge base. You'll also lead the analysis of as-is and to-be positions for Insurance data processes and controls
