Mechanical Design Engineer sought by international business operating within the HVAC sector. A market leader for many decades, the company prides itself in creating innovative products for complex HVAC applications.

We seek a Permanent Mechanical Design Engineer with Project Management skills to join the Engineering team. Ideally experienced in the field of HVAC with an in-depth knowledge of refrigeration, ventilation and sheet metal fabricated products and with 3D design and modelling capabilities (ideally SolidWorks) the role requires the ability to work and communicate across multiple engineering and manufacturing sites. Some electrical knowledge would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Design and support the development of new and existing products.
• Manage and take ownership of development projects ensuring work is completed to schedule and issues resolved or escalated when conflicts occur.
• Work and communicate across the group's engineering / manufacturing sites to rationalise products and ensure common technologies and manufacturing techniques / architectures are utilised.
• Ensure design work meets the latest legislative standards.
• Create documentation and data as part of the design process.
• Support technical problem solving as and when required.
• Assist with developing design briefs and design product / components to meet specifications in terms of cost, quality and delivery.
• Design and produce CAD manufacturing drawings to relevant specifications including 3D models, proposal drawings and full detailed manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks PDM).
• Ensure designs can be manufactured within the group's available technologies and liaise with production / engineering departments to assist the implementation of new products.
• Overseas travel to liaise across the group's engineering / manufacturing sites and suppliers.

Degree or HND (or equivalent) qualified, you should ideally have knowledge of refrigeration, heating and ventilation technologies and also have experience in the design and manufacture of sheet metal fabrications. Experience of low to medium volume manufacture is desirable together with experience of working on bespoke and standard products. You should be proficient in Solid Works
