Principal Teachers are currently recruiting for a Humanities Teacher for a position within one of our Thirsk secondary schools. We have been approached by Head Teacher to appoint qualified and committed Teacher of Humanities for a long term vacancy available with the opportunity of a permanent contract at the end of the fixed term. Successful applicants will need to be competent in the planning and delivery of Humanities up to KS4
Based in Thirsk, the school has been graded 'Good' by Ofsted with outstanding features. The position is available on a full time basis however this is negotiable for the right applicant. You must possess strong behaviour management skills and have an ability to form strong working relationships with staff, pupils and parents very quickly.
The successful applicant will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for Humanities
Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
A commitment to improving attainment for all students
A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
