Job Title: Driver Trainer
Location: Covering Midlands Area
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum - 25 days holiday
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Job Purpose:
- To explore how the company can introduce driver fuel leagues at depot level to help promote fuel savings.
- To explore the better use of the driver mentors in the pursuit of improved fuel economy across the fleet.
- To ensure the drivers understand and are aware of all their legal obligations and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishing & maintaining common training media in conjunction with Driver Trainer manager and line manager to ensure that training is kept up to date and relevant and complies with relevant legislation.
- Coordinating with other Driver Trainer's to ensure the consistent delivery of training media across depots.
- Establishing the level of support required from Managers and determining their outlook in relation to future training needs.
- Assisting the Driver trainer manager in the on-going maintenance of driver's training records.
- Ensuring that the company's fleet operates in a safe but fuel efficient manner.
- Promoting awareness of, and compliance with, driver training requirements.
- Evaluation of drivers' performance in relation to fuel efficiency, driving skills, and company safety initiatives.
- Reporting performance of the training team in relation to training objectives set by senior management.
- Liaison with customers in the development of site or product specific training programs.
Key Requirements:
- Five years on the job experience.
- LGV class one license
- A knowledge of the Smith System defensive driving.
- Instructing/teaching qualification.
- Excellent safety record.
- Assessor qualification.
- IOSH Managing safely.
- Will have always have been an ambassador for Suttons when undertaking his normal duties.
- Smart appearance.
- A working knowledge of IT (MS office) skills would be an advantage.
- An analytical approach to problem solving.
- A good knowledge of EU drivers' hours.
