A fantastic opportunity is available for a Quality Specialist to join a well-respected and established company specialising in the manufacture and supply of a variety of steel and plastic industrial packaging items. Based in Glasgow, the successful Quality Specialist will ideally come from a manufacturing background and will earn a negotiable salary, depending on experience.
As the key Quality Representative reporting to the Management Team, your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Work closely with the manufacturing organization to ensure that approved product quality standards and ways of working are in place for routine production.
- Perform a regular shop floor quality oversight role to ensure manufacturing activities and output meets all agreed standards
- Manage and maintain the key elements of the Company’s Quality Management System
- Lead the execution and management of the internal audit programme.
- Responsible for the CAPA close out and reporting process.
- Drive the Operational Quality Committee process used for the ongoing management of quality issues and quality improvement activities.
- Lead the management of the external supplier quality management programme.
- Make best use of production data/ metrics to drive quality and efficiency improvements
- preparation of periodic reports related to manufacturing and quality performance.
The successful Quality Specialist will possess the following skills and experience:
- Relevant Higher Education qualification and/or minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of product range and customer/market requirements
- Computer literate - ability to write reports in English
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritise and decide appropriate course of action
- Ability to effectively analyse technical data and to communicate, both orally and in writing
- Excellent attention to detail
