We are looking for a dynamic, inspirational, motivated Teacher of BTEC Performing Arts Musical Theatre and to contribute to A Level Music; who will make the subject exciting and stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm in their studies. You will join a team of 10 full time and part time staff working in a spacious, well-resourced new building.
Your teaching will be of high quality and your results will reflect the high calibre of your teaching. You must have a commitment to active and innovative teaching and learning, both inside and outside the classroom. You will have the passion to be part of a successful teaching environment which produce the best from students. Applications from NQT's will be considered.
The department is bursting with opportunities, including exciting extracurricular activities. We organise numerous trips and workshops a year and take the students to perform in local venues such as; The Nuffield Theatre, Winchester Guildhall, Romsey Abbey, Thornden Hall and the Mayflower Theatre. Wider activities include Concerts, the highly successful Dance Company, performance opportunities at the Hat Fair and work with local universities. Almost 80 students also take part in the Rock Challenge every year, which is part of the enrichment programme and becoming increasingly popular.
The Performing Arts department put on 5-6 shows a year as part of the curriculum, which includes one major production, where around 100 students are involved. This production is open for auditions to students from any department.
