Assistant Accountant - Financial Governance and Monitoring (FTC to 31st March 2018)
£30,096 to £34,532 + Excellent Benefits
36.5 hours per week

The company is comprised of the twelve local authorities and three Local Enterprise Partnerships working together to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians, who know this region best. Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

As the Assistant Accountant in the Planning and Performance team you will assist in the provision of a best practice financial service. You will manage, monitor, report and ensure compliance of the current business performance through the Business Planning Framework, Financial Governance Procedures, Financial System, Data Integrity and Financial Training and Communications.

The scope of the role is to:

* Work with the Lead Accountant and the Financial Services Manager to maintain and develop the established Business Planning Framework and regular reporting arrangements
* Be responsible for the delivery of training to the Finance and Procurement teams
* Ensure the Finance Manual is kept up to date.
* Be responsible for the maintenance of the integrity of the data within the Financial System
* Be responsible for overseeing the management of the Sales Ledger and the development of Accounts Receivable systems, ensuring that all income receivable is collected and recorded accurately in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
