Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Construction 
Southampton 
Salary £42,000 to £60,000 + Car /Allowance + 25 days Holiday + Pension 
 
A respected building contractor based in Southampton is searching for Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. 

The business is privately owned and undertakes new build & refurbishment of new build social housing house and flats and well as refurbishments and maintenance for the social housing sector. 
 
Values range from 500k to £15 million, these included D&B and traditional forms of contract. 
 
Due to a full order book and confirmed project starting in throughout 2017 and in to 2018. They are looking for a bright and commercial driven Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor. 
 
You will be joining a professional business who values their members of staff; you will be give freedom in the role and will report directly to the Commercial Director. 
 
The Role 
You will be a knowledgeable Quantity Surveyor from a Main Contracting background. One who is charismatic when dealing with clients and their professional teams, but also firm when required.

You will be commercially savvy with a focus on maximising profit.

You will be responsible for all aspects of quantity surveying from early construction phases including measurement, valuation and managing payment applications throughout the project to final accounts

Assist with the negotiation of sub-contract orders.

Preparing sub-contract order requisitions.

Maintaining sub-contract payment/charges registers.

Carrying out of weekly sub-contract payments.

Producing weekly cost and value reports.

Managing centralised cost allocation system.

Provide feedback on commercial matters to management.

Other commercial administration activities as may be required from time to time.
