Position: Technical Support and Training Engineer
Location: Salfords, Surrey
Salary: £28,000 to £30,000

The Technical Support and Training Engineer Role:
A Technical Support and Training Engineer is required to provide customers service advice on all technical matters related to the company’s BPI product range.

You will provide technical training to a semi or fully technical audience on a wide range of products, both in house and on site.

Key Responsibilities of the Technical Support and Training Engineer:

  • Provide technical support for the company and distributors/customers’ service engineers on BPI products.
  • Keep FSE’s informed of all technical updates on BPI equipment.
  • Provide guidance on major installation projects, both remotely and on site.
  • Investigate/escalate complex technical queries raised by FSE’s and customers, and communicate to relevant departments within their systems to expedite a resolution.
  • Periodically review and update all training material to ensure that it reflects current release of machine.
  • Assist the Training/Technical Support Manager in carrying out his duties.
  • Carry out any other ad-hoc duties as and when instructed.
  • Participate (after suitable experience gained), in the on call standby rota, (24/7, approx’ 1 week in 4).

Knowledge, Training and Qualifications:

 

  • Highly experienced in a wide range of engineering disciplines. Electronics, electrical, electromechanical, PC’s, software etc.
  • Confident in one’s own ability to pass their knowledge onto others.
  • Able to diagnose complex faults remotely, and the ability to convey enough information to affect a quick repair.
  • Ideally a minimum HNC Electronics, or the equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • An extremely wide range of skillsets are required for this role, so emphasis will be placed upon previous experience.
  • Previous experience in an X-Ray systems environment is preferred but not essential.
