SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (Scada metering)

We are seeking a Support Technician to work within a product development team, to perform first line customer support for existing SCADA metering installations. This will be dealt with mainly by telephone support, but also on site at locations across the country. This may suit someone that has a BTEC national (or equivalent) in electrical / electronic or mechatronic engineering in their first or second role.since college

You will provide product development support through firmware / software and hardware testing, product documentation and assist with the design/development of other technologies.

Responsibilities:

* Assist clients with installations and troubleshooting of SCADA based metering solutions, currently (but not exclusively) based upon electricity power monitoring
* Perform routine product verification testing on a range of system configuration and revision scenarios
* Install and commission modules and systems on behalf of the client
* Facilitate the smooth transition from module development from design to manufacture through clear communication, written instruction and test planning
* Assist with product design / development

Requirements:

* Working knowledge of electronic systems, SCADA data acquisition system knowledge is beneficial
* Knowledge and application of structured problem solving methods
* Customer service skills
* Practical knowledge of software systems, especially database/client server applications
* Plan, schedule and complete test activities
* Perform regular field work (outdoors)
* Electrical engineering knowledge
* Full driving licence
* BTEC national (or equivalent) in electrical / electronic / mechatronic engineering

Salary in region of GBP18-21k dependant on skills
