About the role

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the University's Field of Writing, Film and Digital Creativity and the Bath Business School within our College of Liberal Arts.  You will co-ordinate and deliver innovative Information and Digital Literacy sessions to students and staff and take an active role in collection development and responsibility for managing LLS budgets in relation to your allocated subjects.  You will be able to make an effective contribution to departmental projects and working groups to help us to provide a responsive and ever improving experience for our users.

A key member of the Library & Learning Services team, you will take a leading role in the planning, management and development of library resources to improve staff and student engagement at  Newton  Park  and  work  in  collaboration  with  colleagues  in  campus  libraries  at  Sion  Hill  and Corsham Court.  Working as an integral part of the LLS Learning Enhancement team you will have the opportunity to be directly involved in the shaping of library policy and practice as we look to respond dynamically to the needs of the University during an exciting phase of its development.   

About you (requirements)

Alongside a postgraduate qualification in librarianship - or a related discipline - you will have a track record of delivering quality, innovative Information and/or Digital Literacy provision, ideally in Higher Education or you will be a new professional who shows enthusiasm and potential to succeed in the Higher Education environment.  We will expect you to demonstrate excellent communication skills, budgetary experience and practical problem-solving ability.

We are looking for someone with strong team working values and experience who is organised and committed to the professional development of themselves and others.  Crucially, you are an energetic, dedicated professional who is enthusiastic about the role of the Librarian in learning enhancement and teaching and focused on providing the highest level of support to students and staff.

Those with appropriate professional accreditation will be appointed at Grade 7 (£32,004 - £36,001 per annum). Those without professional accreditation will be appointed on Grade 6 (£26,829 - £31,076) and progress to Grade 7 on completion of appropriate professional accreditation - Either Chartered Librarian status or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or appropriate equivalent).
