Finance Manager
Location - Outskirts of Exeter
The Company
We are actively recruiting an experienced Finance Manager for a commercial business on the outskirts of Exeter. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to the directors so they can make sound business decisions and meet the companies' objectives. We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with management experience, however candidates who are qualified by experience and possess the necessary experience will also be considered for this role. This is a senior role within the business, a sound grasp of financial systems and procedures is crucial. Solid communication skills, leadership skills and employee management experience is essential. This is a 'hands on' finance manager position monitoring all the day to day financial operations within the company including HR and management. A proven track record in a similar role is required, a deep understanding of business principles and practices, attention to detail, organisational skills, and multi-tasking abilities. Personality fit is crucial we are seeking a professional honest individual with integrity and a personable manner.
Job Duties:
Preparation and completion of monthly management accounts
Quarterly VAT Returns
Preparation and completion of statutory year end accounts
Preparing accounts for HMRC, Payment and checking of Corporation Tax Computations
Managing Cash flow/Annual forecasting
Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
Present financial reports to the Directors
Preparing monthly payment runs/BACS payments
Invoice Processing-Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger/Bank Reconciliations/Sundry bank payments and receipts including requesting monthly inter-company payments
Monthly supplier statement reconciliations/P11D's
Annual bank review meeting
Assist the directors with personal tax-check computations, liaising with external accountants and arranging payments
Annual return filing for each company
Preparation of AGM minutes'/Directors minutes
Amending sales prices/dealing with discount requests
Oversee financial department employees
Provide insightful information and expectations to senior management to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
General Work as follows:
ISO 9001 (In progress on a monthly basis, submit audit)
ISO 14001 (In progress on a monthly basis, submit audit)
Health & Safety- Inspections, Risk Assessments
Approving marketing material
Dealing with Insurance renewals
HR Requirements
Approving holiday requests
Annual staff appraisals
Monitoring sales team (phone call numbers)
Staff Administration-letters for pay increases/change in hours
Recruitment & Induction of new staff
Dealing with sickness return to work interviews and paperwork
Dealing with ad-hoc staff requests
