Production Logistics Manager - Cheltenham

We are working with a Global Aerospace Technology company, who are recruiting for a dynamic Production Logistics Manager to join the Logistics team on a permanent basis in Cheltenham.

The Role
Reporting into the Head of Logistics the Logistics Manager will be the operational lead for the Original Equipment Logistics function, encompassing goods receiving, warehousing and distribution to both internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities
The Logistics Manager will ensure performance of the OE Logistics function in line with all targets relating to SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People), ensure budgetary control and to actively drive process improvements and cost reductions whilst maintaining key identified deliverables in terms of stock availability, product delivery and order fulfilment. The Logistics Manager will ensure the OE Logistics processes are compliant with all relevant regulatory, legislative and procedural requirements and best practices.

Principle Responsibilities:
Managing both an internal team and 3rd party service provider, the Logistics manager will manage resources effectively to help the organisation improve and meet efficiencies and cost challenges of the business.
The Logistics Manager will ensure that the delivery parts and consumables are on time, in full and in the correct physical presentation to internal production shops, including the Assembly Flow Line, using JIT methodology.
Management of packing, dispatch and transport processes, for global civil and military customer base
Delivery of parts to the Customer Services Spares Warehouse
Monitor and control budgets and costs
Management of import/export under ITAR, EASA and IPR regulations.

You
We would welcome applications from individuals who have proven work experience as a Logistics Manager within a Production environment, successful distribution and logistics management skills with the ability to lead and manage resources.
You will be proficient in standard Logistics/Supply Chain MRP/ERP; SAP knowledge is essential.

Skills
Strong analytical skills
Lean Six Sigma trained would be advantageous
Qualified to degree or equivalent in a logistics, supply chain or business discipline
