Financial Controller

The Organisation: BMC Recruitment Group are delighted to be assisting this unique North East based organisation with the recruitment of a Financial Controller. The business operates in an extremely commercial environment, so are seeking to appoint a forward thinking ACA qualified Accountant. The Role: Preparation of monthly management reports and annual statutory accounts Close liaison with Assistant Accountant to maintain accurate accounting records for group entities Supporting Financial Director with business analysis and new business proposals Assisting with the annual budgeting process, identifying potential savings and monitoring performance to budget throughout the year Preparation and project management of external audits including liaison with external auditors Preparation of periodic taxation reports (including employment taxes and VAT returns) ensuring timely payment of amounts due Communicating with external advisers to identify efficiencies and improvements in group processes and affairs. Cash flow forecasting and supporting the FD in management of treasury function Carrying out compliance monitoring procedures Project work on an ad-hoc basis The Individual: Recently qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) Excellent analytical and presentation skills Strong IT skills (knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word) Strong work ethic with a desire to learn Experience of Sage Line 50 desirable but not essential Other Information: Occasional UK based travel may be required
