Our client is looking for a Volunteer Recruiter to join their team and be responsible for the recruitment of volunteers.
This is a remote role with access to a base in Stockport. You will be working Monday to Friday, but must be flexible to cover evening/weekend shifts if the need arises.
Position Summary
As Volunteer Recruiter, your role will be to creatively recruit, train and retain a bank of skilled Volunteers to work on projects in media, arts, sports and leisure and community based activities. This will involve:
• Attracting and recruit new volunteers using traditional and creative methods including hosting open evenings, recruitment fairs, social media and networking
• Responsible for the volunteer recruitment process, including writing and placing adverts, screening, shortlisting, arranging interviews, and applying for references and DBS checks.
• Responsible for delivering and coordinating volunteer Induction and mandatory training to ensure volunteers fulfil the requirements of available placements.
• Line management of volunteers and volunteer mentors. This will involve conducting placement reviews and one to ones
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of line management and supervision of staff or volunteers. Additionally, they should:
• Be able to develop and deliver training for volunteers, either independently or in conjunction with other staff
• Able to assess, plan and prioritise own work load and that of volunteers to meet required targets
• Have excellent communication skills and ability to chair meetings.
• Able to collect accurate data and present to management either verbally or in writing.
• IT literate and competent with Microsoft Office packages
• Be flexible and self-motivated, work well as part of a team or under own initiative
• Have access to a car and be willing to get business use insurance
