Salary: £18,000 plus - depending on experience

 

Full time - Available immediately (3-month probationary period required)

Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays (based on full-time hours)

Driving Licence: You must hold a full clean driving licence

 

Our client is a specialist independent Legionella control contractor who specialises in assisting organisations in the prevention, control and compliance of the risks associated with Legionella Bacteria (in line with HSE ACOP L8). They provide a service to a variety of clients such as Universities, Colleges, Hospitals and Local Authorities.

 

They are looking for an industry experienced Water Hygiene Engineer who is enthusiastic, hardworking and pro-active. The applicant should have specialist experience of carrying out a range of water testing and treatment work at customer sites including:

 

  • System flushing and sampling
  • TMV maintenance and failsafe checks
  • Showerhead descale and disinfections
  • Cold water storage tank inspections
  • Calorifier checks
  • Ideally, you will have also completed the Disinfection of Water Systems in Buildings course. If not completed, then proven experience carrying out system disinfections would be very useful
  • Plumbing qualifications would also be an advantage

 

 

The role will involve the following:

 

  • Monitoring and maintenance of building water services in accordance with the ACoP L8
  • Temperature testing of water outlets and TMV's
  • Weekly Flushing
  • Inspections of CWST's and HWC's
  • Water sampling
  • Showerhead Disinfections
  • TMV Servicing
  • Risk Assessment Review
  • Log Book auditing
  • Inspections will be undertaken using a PDA and web-based electronic log book system

 

The successful candidate will be working in a series of schools and colleges and therefore a CRB (DBS) disclosure will be required. The organisation will pay for this if you do not currently have one.

 

The office is based in Leeds, LS16 but jobs will be primarily be allocated anywhere between North East and Wales - there will be approximately 3 overnight stays per month.
