The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic, industry leading organisation in. As a JLA Apprentice Engineer we would invest heavily in you to make sure you're equipped with the skills and knowledge to be successful and provide continuous training to make sure you're at the top of your game.

You will learn how to diagnose and fix faults, service and maintain commercial laundry or catering equipment within the customer's premises from Premier League Football Clubs to Hospitals, Hotels to Care Homes and University student accommodation.

You will be expected to assist your Lead Field Service Engineer in their daily duties and learn whilst doing to develop and mould yourself into an outstanding Engineer.

Key Accountabilities

* Identify faults in a full range of commercial catering or laundry equipment which can be powered by electricity, gas or steam
* Fix the diagnosed faults using the correct part for the job
* Service and repair laundry and catering equipment to meet the standards required
* Carry out routine maintenance on equipment
* Learn about different products and how to fix them
* Open, close down and upload electronic job sheets correctly
* Deal with customers in a positive and enthusiastic manner
* Be responsible for monitoring and ordering parts to be stocked in the van
* Keep the van and tools clean and tidy and in good working order
* Demonstrate good practical skills in engineering or science or construction
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* The ability to respond quickly to client demands
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Ability to solve problems
* Stay calm under pressure
* Computer literate

What we're looking for

* A minimum of five A-C GCSE's including English, Maths and Science and 2 others (ideally engineering basic qualification)
* Computer literate with a good basic I.T knowledge and comfortable using Microsoft packages
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Ability to solve problems

* Able to work to deadlines and remain focussed.

JLA are looking for dynamic Field Service Engineers to join their teams around the country

You will be with a group of other Field Service Engineer Apprentices and form a cohort as you complete your internal and external training and development course.

Hours of work would be expected to be Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pm with occasional trips to Head Office in Ripponden for in-house training
