Our client is a leading maintenance services provider for aggregates industry and due to their continued success Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Maintenance Assistant.
The successful candidate will work at a busy production site near Huntingdon.
The Role:
Reporting to the site manager the successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring the functionality of a large conveyor system at a stone extraction facility.
You will be required to undertake daily routine inspections of the conveyor system and to carry out the following;
- Identify and change damaged rollers, bearings etc
- Reporting wear or damage to conveyor structure and conveyor belt
- Assisting fitters with structural repairs and improvements
- Monitoring head and tail units, digging out stone if breakdown occurs
- Tracking and tensioning conveyor belt
- Assisting with belt repairs, replacements or inserts
- Shovelling spilt stone back onto conveyor throughout circuit
- General maintenance duties and housekeeping
- Oil changes in gearboxes
Candidates:
The role will involve walking the conveyor route so we applicants must be physically fit. The role will suit candidates who have experience in or who are interested in plant maintenance or mechanical or engineering however full training will be provided.
Applicants who have a Tele-Handler licence will have an advantage however all applicants will be considered.
The position will be quite autonomous so we are looking for candidates who are reliable, trustworthy and hard working. The position will provide opportunity for long term career progression and increased earnings.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday - 7.30am to 5pm + Overtime
45 hour week
28 days annual leave including bank holidays
