The Recycling Group specialises in recycling White Goods and has invested in the site at Telford to support the AO World Group, by providing the best possible WEEE recycling standards in the UK.
Based in Telford they are a very exciting and enthusiastic company that like to think big. With this they drive high expectations and targets to ensure lasting happiness for their customers. The successful candidate will be joining a growing business with influential support from companies who partner this project like ourselves, giving them the backing to be exceptional in the moments that matter.
More about the role
This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic Business Development Manager to help us further grow our client base in the UK, based from our site in Halesfield, Telford.
The site currently has several large, long term contracts which provide the bulk of the volume going through the site. Your role will be to maximise this volume by bringing in additional business based on availability - meaning your sales potential will change every single week!
The role will come with a company laptop and smartphone, with typical hours being Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, although flexibility is required. This is a brand new role within the business and comes with excellent opportunities for career progression within the group.
Here's what you can expect to be doing
- Identifying new business opportunities
- Approaching potential new clients to arrange site visits to discuss our services
- Developing strong relationships with our clients to identify their needs, working with them to best suit their requirements
- Selling services to new and existing customers
- Meet monthly sales targets
- Attending events and conferences to build a network and gain information on market trends and insights
- Producing reports and presentations to customers and senior management
- Interacting with the operational team in order to understand in detail of the productivity plan and therefore the spare capacity for potential recycling sales
- identifying new sales methods and opportunities for the business
A few things about you
As Business Development Manager, ideally you will already have sales experience or other knowledge of the licensed trade sector.
In addition, you will have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to approach people at all levels of seniority
- Previous sales experience not necessarily from within the recycling industry
- An ambitious and persistent nature
- Self-motivation
- Natural networking skills
- Confident communication and presentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a pressurised, sales-driven environment
- Commercial knowledge to analyse market data and identify new Opportunities
- Strong team working skills, as well as the ability to take the initiative
- Good numerical skills
