Who will I be working with?

Arriva TrainCare provides Light and Heavy Train Maintenance services to the railway industry from its five strategically located maintenance depots. So, what will the role of HR Officer entail?

Reporting to the HR Manager, as HR Officer you’ll work as part of the wider HR team and act as a case manager across the full spectrum of Employee Relations activity, ensuring all written representations are clear, concise and accurate.

You’ll also be responsible for managing and leading project work, with varied responsibilities including CSR initiatives, TUPE, changes to working practices, undertaking relevant research related to new policies and procedures, and assisting with implementation across the business.

What will I need to be considered for this HR Officer vacancy?

  • Proven HR experience working with change management and redundancy programmes
  • In depth and up to date knowledge of employment legislation and the ability to advise business colleagues accordingly
  • Experience in employee relations case management and delivering employee relations training materials / courses
  • Experience of handling and attending employment tribunals
  • Superb organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • IT literacy with advanced Microsoft Office skills and the ability to use HR systems e.g. case management database
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and unsupervised, using own initiative
  • Full UK driving licence

A degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject area such as CIPD would be advantageous, however not essential.

What will I receive in return?

Salary:                          £26,000

Working Hours:             37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
