Financial Accountant

A successful, stable and well know business based in Chorley are looking to recruit for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. They are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join their Finance Team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of statutory financial accounts, internal controls within the business and systems implementations, as well as communicating effectively to the other support functions. As this is a small finance team you will have commercial exposure working alongside the Finance Director to help address key strategic decisions of the business.
The role will involve statutory accounts and tax accounts preparation and research into changes in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will be involved in the strategic planning and reporting, VAT compliance and internal controls and audit. This position will also include ad hoc projects such as finance system implementations, acquisitions, troubleshooting and systems implementations and some business travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. This is a busy role in a fast paced environment which requires a proven ability to multi-task and a highly organised 'can do' approach.
Working as a key member of the team, you will need a professional, approachable attitude when dealing with confidential information. You will also need to have strong IT skills particularly in relation to Microsoft Excel and Google Apps. Candidates should also be confident using a variety of software packages. Effective interpersonal communication and written skills are essential along with an adaptable and positive disposition.
