Role: Senior Creative Account Manager

Location: Sheffield

Salary: up to GBP35k, DOE

My client is a full service creative agency based in Sheffield made up of a team of talented individuals who are constantly exploring new technologies. There's a culture of care and team work here and as one of the biggest integrated agencies in Yorkshire, they have developed brands and campaigns for some of the world's best known brands.

Role purpose and overview:

To lead and manage all aspects of new and existing client accounts, ensuring effective utilisation of client budgets and the successful achievement of all targets and objectives. Key responsibilities include the ongoing development of the account, overall profitability of the account within the agency, leading of client relationship and the effective management of some members of the account team and internal agency resources.

Key Accountabilities:

Client Accountability

?? Lead and develop client's accounts within the agency.

?? Strategic understanding of the client's industry, business and their competitors. Also, establish a full understanding of the client's internal issues, processes and policies.

?? Proactively challenge briefs, and where appropriate, lead clients in the development of the campaign briefs and strategy.

?? Provide a strategic service to clients, helping to direct marketing strategy and overall marketing planning.

?? Ensure consistently high level of service is provided by the account management team, including creation of creative briefs, presentation of creative, and its rationale to the client at all levels.

?? Oversee agency relationship with client's other marketing partners (e.g. media, print, PR), ensuring an effective service is provided to both these partners and the client in turn, and that an integrated approach is adopted.

?? Conduct regular client and agency reviews to ensure all service levels are being met and any issues are identified and acted upon.

Agency Accountability

?? Identify new business opportunities within the client's business and industry, and work with the new business team to develop and win new business.

?? Lead client and their projects within the agency, ensuring all appropriate agency personnel maintain a full understanding of the client's requirement.

?? Proactively review and analyse competitor and market activity and identify any implications to the client's business.

?? Lead, motivate and develop more junior members of the account team to ensure an effective service to clients and other areas of the agency.

?? Report on client accounts and financial performance and plans for account development to the Senior Management team as and when required and contribute to the successful performance of the Client Services Team and the business as a whole.

?? Identify resource requirements throughout the agency and ensure that these are identified with the appropriate Client Services Director.

?? Ensure compliance within account team, with all internal agency procedures, including invoicing, purchasing and job management.

Financial Accountability

?? Responsible for maintaining account profitability, including contribution, agency cost and external costs.

?? Production of accurate forecasts for all accounts, based upon client budgets and planning processes.

?? Contribute to the planning and forecasting process, including regular reforecast, reporting of actual vs. planned performance, and implement remedial actions where plans are not being met.

?? Ensure all work is accurately estimated, within agreed contractual or standard terms, and that all invoices are efficiently produced.

?? Represent the agency on any financial negotiation with client, including setting of rates, establishment of retainers and dealing with non-payments.

?? Ensure all projects run profitably in-line with forecasts and that in-costs are in-line with expectations.

?? Consistent evaluation of client and team profitability.

The successful candidate:

Extensive experience and exposure across a range of industry sectors and marketing disciplines, together with comprehensive experience agency side. Specific skills required include:

?? Educated to graduate level.

?? Professional Marketing qualification preferred (CIM or IDM).

?? Ideally, a minimum of 5 years industry experience.

?? Able to evidence the creation, development and implementation of marketing communications strategies.

?? Experience in all key areas of marketing communications, including digital, advertising, direct mail, promotion and literature. Specific experience in digital communications strategy and development would be advantageous.

?? Excellent project management skills plus an ability to multi-task proficiently.

?? A mix of analytical and creative capabilities.

?? Effective upward and downward delegation skills.

?? High level of diplomacy and ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships both with clients and within the agency.

The successful candidate must have a full clean driving license.
