Logistics Controller, Liverpool, Food Manufacturing Company

The Role:

We are recruiting for a Logistics Controller role on behalf of a leading Food Manufacturer based in Liverpool.

Reporting to the Logistics and Warehouse Manager, within the Supply Chain, you will be responsible for coordinating the flow of goods and truck routes in a timely and cost effective manner.

The successful applicant will have an in-depth knowledge of supply chain management procedures with strong planning skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities Include:

• Organise safe and efficient distribution of goods to ensure customer orders are satisfied.
• Coordinate vehicles, loads and routes for UK and International distribution maximising deliveries at lowest cost.
• Use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order to delivery cycle
• Evaluate performance and quality to develop action plans to drive continuous improvement both in cost and service
• Preparing and managing the logistical export process and associated documentation
• Support the Logistic and Warehouse Manager in strategic planning and development of the current logistic process for future growth
• Manage and develop the Logistics Administrator
• Manage load assembly ensuring orders are despatched efficiently and in line with customer requirements
• Liaise with internal export customers to ensure that delivery / shipments are met
• Coordinate logistics / transportation and shipping activities internally and Externally
• Manage costs to ensure best value haulage method is selected for every load
• Review shipping documents / certificates making sure they are relevant and correct
• Control blocking / releasing / transformation of stock in all warehouses
• Manage stock takes in all warehouses with analysis of results
• Plan and deliver US loads to ensure stock meets demand
• Manage warehouse capacity through peak balancing cost v space

Salary: £26,000 + Benefits
