Our client is looking for an experienced Production Engineer to join their door production team, based at their factory in High Wycombe.
They are the UK's leading specialist manufacturer of bespoke, premium, aluminium Doors, Windows and electronic roller Blinds. Established in 2002, they have grown rapidly, and now have offices in Dubai as well as manufacturing facility in North America.
The Production Engineer will be assisting with the development of products and processes in Manufacturing. They will be responsible for servicing the needs of the production teams in delivering both new and existing products.
Key Responsibilities- Production Engineer:
• Analyse processes and identify areas for improvement in either availability, performance (speed, cycle time) and Quality
• Conceptualise new tools, tooling, fixtures and fittings to develop processes
• From concepts, create CAD drawings
• Engage external engineering suppliers to make designed items on time and in full against project timelines
• Build effective relationships with Manufacturing Management and Factory colleagues
• Keep up to date with R&D colleagues about future items for Manufacturing
• Attend Daily Operations Meetings
• Create and maintain formal project plans for all improvement work
• Carry out risk assessments on any equipment modifications
The Ideal Production Engineer:
• Be able to work as part of a team and to strict deadlines
• Have CAD drafting and/or design experience
• Have experience of quality management system and inspection
• Have a working knowledge of factory maintenance and operations
• Have Knowledge about Kaizen Events, Lean and other continuous improvement techniques
• Be an excellent trouble shooter and problem solver
• Be a strong communicator and be able to interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and management
• Have strong presentation and report writing skills
• Have proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Additional Requirements- Production Engineer:
• A degree/HNC/ONC in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline would be an advantage
• Automotive experience an advantage
• Experience of lean manufacturing techniques
