Selwyn College is recruiting for an enthusiastic, team player to join our small and busy maintenance team. 

Title: General Trades Assistant 
Location: Cambridge 
Contract type: Permanent, full-time 
Hours of work: 37.5 per week 
Salary: £18,823 – £19,969 per annum, depending on skills and experience


Working alongside other trades, the successful applicant will carry out painting and decorating, undertake basic carpentry tasks, such as fitting kitchen cupboards and stud work walls, assist the plumber with basic plumbing tasks and generally support other trades in the team to complete small scale alterations and refurbishments of our College properties. Tasks will be varied and depend on operational requirements and the successful applicant's skills and knowledge.

To be successful in this role, you will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to complete work to a high standard, experience of 1st and 2nd fix, flexibility to adjust and adapt to meet deadlines, and a basic knowledge of workplace health and safety. You will also have good communication skills, the ability to work in harmony with others, physically fit and able to lift and carry, and able to work without supervision when necessary.
