AAT Accounts Technician (Accountancy Practice) Plymouth Ref: AP12122/2 GBP25,000-GBP30,000 + study support towards ACA or ACCA My client, a rapidly growing accountancy practice, is seeking an AAT qualified Accounts Technician to join them and play an integral role in the further development and growth of the Practice. With a strong focus on building and maintaining client relationships, this role will suit an experienced Accounts Technician who has extensive experience of working in an accountancy practice environment and being responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant who is looking for career progression in a very supportive and welcoming environment. You will be working as part of a small, yet very successful team and will be responsible for a portfolio of client work, including dealing with corporate and personal tax returns, and related accountancy work. Role Manage a portfolio of clients, which provides the opportunity to build relationships, understand clients' businesses and be responsible for delivery of compliance and ad hoc services for those clients. This will include management accounts and VAT, yearend accounts and tax work and responding to queries in year. Preparation and review of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small limited companiesPreparation and review of corporation and personal tax returnsPreparation and review of VAT returnsDeveloping our already significant use of cloud accounting products (Xero and Quickbooks) across a wider range of clientsResponsible for managing your own daily workloadCoach and develop junior members of the team. Requirements Minimum of AAT qualified and ideally studying towards ACCA or ACAPrevious experience working in a practice environmentDemonstrable experience of delivering excellent service to clientsAbility to work on own initiative unsupervisedAbility to work to strict deadlinesExcellent communication skills written and verbalSignificant practical experience in the use of full double entry accounting systemsKnowledge of CIS and Payroll helpfulExcellent general IT skills, particularly Excel
