Fantastic opportunity for a Senior/Principle Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading engineering services company working within the global oil and gas industry. A Senior Geotechnical Engineer provides a wide range of technical consultancy services to the utility and energy industry, specifically in the fields of gas, oil and water transmission and distribution. The candidate will need to interface with a wide range of disciplines within the company, and work with clients ranging from blue chip oil gas and energy companies, through to government agencies, in the UK and internationally. Key responsibilities will include:

- Working on projects to deliver solutions to customers within the timeframe, costs and quality standards agreed
- Reviewing and inputting into technical bid documentation and summarise key information in relation to scope
- Ensuring documentation is delivered within agreed timescales to meet client deadlines
- Carrying out site visits, design and deliver technical reports and appraisals to the highest standards required by the client
- Producing a full close out report to all clients
- Managing engineers and technical assistants; mentor and educate on high standards of work, technical knowledge, delivery of projects/activities and customer interface
- Supporting recruitment, growing and motivating teams to deliver on key business objectives

In order for the above tasks are delivered with efficiency, it is essential for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

- Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or similar discipline
- Chartered Engineer, or approaching Chartership with a minimum of 5 years design experience including one year working on site
- Sound knowledge and experience of working with all related British Standards required, including the new European Standards and UK Specification for Ground Investigations
- A good awareness of Health and Safety including CDM, Risk Assessments and the ability to write project specific Risk Assessments
- Knowledge of National Grid and IDNs specific Standards and Procedures
- Broad awareness of gas industry standards and specifications including Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers Standards
- Experience of dealing with varied Civil and Geotechnical engineering aspects relating directly to oil and gas industry plant and pipelines.
- Full clean drivers licence and flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas for various periods of time.
- Awareness of the many approaches to Civil and Geotechnical Design and the ability to give advice on methods of design and construction.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports
- Up-to-date CSCS card
