NPD Chef / Development Chef

NPD Development Chef, Stevenage, Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire

As a key member of the R&D team, the Development Chef will have an understanding of the latest food trends both retail and QSR, with previous experience in developing new products and playing an active role in developing relationship with Key Accounts.

This role will be responsible for developing new product ideas and turning into innovative and commercially viable products.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and maintain key customer relationships through understanding of their markets, products, processes and online capabilities and constraints
• Ability to be hands-on in developing products for customers either from specific briefs or concept ideas and leading product presentations
• Have a natural interest and passion in food
• Proactively keep abreast of new market trends and product concepts and generate new ideas
• Have knowledge of the usage of their products in application and drive new product development and continuous improvement
• Develop a full understanding of the Company's capabilities and knowledge of the production and quality standards required
• Have a sound understanding of the Company's capabilities (production limitations, company strategy, personnel limitations, etc.)
• Work within the prescribed development system (Recipe Management System, filing, etc.)
• Support the team by assisting in other areas to prevent overloading of work when required
