Our extraCare model allows older people to live independently in their own self-contained apartment, with access to a home care service that is based on site.

The scheme consists of 41 apartments, 35 of which are 2-bedroomed, the remainder have 1 bedrooms. Facilities include communal space for social activities, a shop, hairdressing salon and library.

Each apartment is wheelchair accessible and has an ensuite bathroom and fitted kitchen. A scheme manager and care manager work closely to ensure that a high quality service is provided for the tenant and that the care package they receive is tailored towards their specific needs.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our highly motivated team, to assist the Chef in preparing meals for residents; ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room. You should possess a least a Basic Food Hygiene certificate and have previous kitchen experience within a large scale operation.

Specific duties will include:

• Assisting the chef in preparation of meals
• Deputising for the chef during his/her absence which will include staff & HCCAP management
• Setting up and cleaning tables, washing up and serving meals.

You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and the residents. You will also take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. You must be passionate about food and customer service, ideally have worked in a similar role and be able to work some weekends.
