Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: London, Farnborough or Manchester
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced air quality consultant to join our building services client. The team works on a wide range of multidisciplinary consultancy projects in the built environment for UK and overseas private sector clients.
You will be expected to lead and mentor a team of consultants working on air quality assessments, EIAs and building certification projects. Projects will include major developments, large masterplan developments, shopping centres, power generation facilities, waste facilities, and football and sports stadia in the UK and overseas.
You will have extensive knowledge of the National Air Quality Strategy, air quality policy, regulations and guidance, the EIA process and air quality modelling. A good knowledge of indoor air quality issues is also required as well as an understanding of the requirements of certification standards such as BREEAM, LEED and WELL. Furthermore, you should have:
-Significant air quality consultancy experience, including undertaking air quality road traffic emissions and stationary combustion source modelling assessments
-Detailed dispersion modelling skills (including ADMS-Roads, DMRB screening, ADMS, and GIS mapping tools)
-A thorough understanding of air quality legislation, policy and guidance
-A good understanding of indoor air quality and how building design can be used to minimise air quality issues
-The ability to work with other technical specialisms
-Good commercial awareness and experience of writing stand alone fee proposals for air quality work and supporting multidisciplinary proposals
-Good written and oral communication skills
-A degree or higher degree in an environmental discipline
