LOCATION: Preston, Lancashire

JOB TITLE: Deputy Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary depending on experience

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 35 hours per week - must be flexible

THE COMPANY: Our client is a successful award winning nursery based in Preston Lancashire with a reputation for quality care and education. They can cater for up to 24 children per day from the ages of between 2-4 years.

THE ROLE: The role of the Deputy Manager will be to assist in the day to day running of the Nursery.

Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager to include:-

Plan, prepare and review the curriculum with the team reflective of the EYFS
Ensure that all the requirements for OFSTED and other legislative bodies are adhered to
Working alongside the manager to achieve excellent standards within the Nursery
Assist the nursery manager in ensuring the 'key-worker' and 'key-person' system is fully operational
Assist the nursery manager in ensuring that each child in the nursery has up to date records of their day to day activities and development through learning journeys
Ensure that all staff develop positive relationships with parents/carers through being a role model
Assist the nursery manager in leading the team and to take charge of the planning and development of an inspiring and creative environment
Ensure all daily checklists are completed on time and accurately, completing risk assessments, outdoor, toilet and kitchen checklists
To be responsible for recording accidents in the accident book and ensuring accident forms are signed by parents

THE CANDIDATE: Our client is looking for a passionate, highly motivated and reliable Deputy Manager to join our team to assist in the development and management of our setting. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage the nursery in the manager's absence; possess good communication skills and have a genuine desire to provide a high standard of care for children.

Key experience essential for the role of Deputy Manager based in Preston, Lancashire:
GCSE's grade C or above in English and Maths
Level 3 or equivalent in childcare and development
Some experience in a supervisory role

Desirable qualifications: -
Experience of working within a nursery setting
Experience of working in a breakfast and after school club setting
A comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures such as Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and First Aid
Ability to use your own initiative
Strong people management skills
Passionate, caring practitioner
Flexible and adaptable approach to the job
