Senior Systems Accountant Exeter Competitive Salary & Benefits About Capita | Fund Solutions Capita: Capita employs over 25,000 staff in the UK financial services industry alone (over 64,000 employees in total) The company has grown significantly as a result of an ambitious culture of acquiring and developing businesses Whilst many financial services companies have recorded minimal growth since 2008, Capita has enjoyed huge growth Capita in Exeter Employs around 100 staff, of which over 40 are directly involved in fund administration for specialist closed fund strategies Provide accounting and administration services to a small number of private equity funds, but wish to develop this business line Business referred from various Capita offices in UK (including Channel Islands) and overseas Undergoing a restructure and additional round of investment to grow the business - this could involve expansion or acquisitions within UK, or outside Falls within the Fund Solutions business line of Capita Asset Services What you will do: Assist with systems and process design Ascertain and document user requirements Apply robust project management disciplines and methodologies Help coordinate a number of project activities including training and UAT Work closely with IT and the suppliers to deliver quality high performing systems Assist with business intelligence and help design system reports Ensure systems procedures and training manuals are effectively used and kept up to date for any new developments and operational changes Ensure system prices are accurate and checked daily (scrubbed) to independent price sources Ensure other market data in the system is accurate and up to date Set up new entities and new business on the system(s) Liaise with IT on data feed and technical issues Manage and coordinate internal systems audit visits Work closely with the accounting teams & IT on key projects, and assist with coordination of user acceptance testing Design and implement solutions to eliminate such issues effectively across the business and ensure the results of these are monitored and recorded. Your experience will include: Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) Strong Project Management experience (either project manager or of being a key member of a project team) Financial services & funds industry background Previous experience of portfolio administration, including the lifecycles of equities, bonds, derivatives, real assets or other underlying portfolio financial instruments Previous experience of communicating directly with senior management and project steering committees Business intelligence and systems report development (e.g. SAP Crystal, Microsoft report Builder) Excel macros and data management tools Knowledge of fund accounting systems, especially Real Estate and or Private Equity fund accounting systems.
