We are looking for an experienced Production Technical Support person to join a UK leading precision metal manufacturers on a temp to perm basis in Loughborough.

To start as soon as possible, the hours are a shift pattern of 40 hours per week, alternating 6am to 2pm (week 1) and 2pm to 10pm (week 2).

Main purpose of the role:

To manage the day-to-day technical aspects of the department under the instruction of the Team Leader to ensure that available labour is allocated accordingly, machine availability is optimised, relevant parts are available and that quality standards and production schedules are met. May also be required to deputise for the Team Leader in their absence.

Duties:

Meeting personal KPI's and production targets to ensure that products are delivered to schedule.
Ensuring that all products are manufactured to customer specification and company quality standards: reporting any queries/defects/faults to the Team Leader.
Ensuring that all machines' capacity is optimised through minimisation of downtime due to faults and breakdowns.
Setting up and designing jigs where applicable.
Ensuring that machines are set up to optimise output and that all employees are trained to use the machines effectively and safely.
Accurately completing all relevant documentation in a timely manner.
Performing duties in a safe manner ensuring that all PPE and work-wear are worn and that all safety policies and procedures are followed.
Responsible for all personal equipment, gauges and tooling ensuring that they are kept in good condition and accounted for and reporting any faulty equipment to the Team Leader.
Implementing LEAN manufacturing techniques as instructed and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Responsible for all aspects of quality and that all CI initiatives are implemented and adhered to.
Responsible for maintaining high standards of personal appearance and compliance with Company Dress Code.
Liaising with internal & external key people

Any other duties deemed by management to be appropriate to the grade.

Experience required:

Substantial experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Experience of working in a sheet metal manufacturing environment
Machine setting experience
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing
Good communication skills
In depth knowledge of relevant department machinery & equipment
Knowledge of quality and CI principles
Demonstrable experience of setting up/designing jigs
Physical fitness - able to lift moderate weights as required
