Arriva Transport Solutions Limited (ATSL) have an exciting opportunity for a Communications and Engagement Executive to join the team based in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. Working on a full time, permanent basis, the successful Communications and Engagement Executive will receive a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum.

Arriva Transport Solutions Limited (ATSL), part of Arriva’s UK Bus Division, is an exciting and specialist business that is making fast progress in establishing Arriva within new markets across the UK.  Already, ATSL has quickly established itself as one of the UK’s largest providers of Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) and operates contracts throughout the UK.

The Communications and Engagement Executive role:

Reporting to the Communications and Engagement Manager, you will grow and maintain the profile of the company brand and manage its reputation through corporate communications and stakeholder engagement.

Main responsibilities as our Communications and Engagement Executive:

- Deliver corporate communications and engagement plans and campaigns across the business

- Work with the operational teams to support the planning and delivery of patient and stakeholder surveys and subsequent action plans;

- Work with ATSL managers to produce positive media stories and respond to media enquiries;

- Develop communication materials for different audiences including copywriting and design – in line with corporate branding;

- Coordinate and proofread internal and external publications;

- Organise and coordinate meetings, events and seminars

- Update and manage content on ATSL’s public facing website;

- Support the delivery of staff communications and engagement

- Create and maintain a photo and video library

- Support the Communications and Engagement Manager in the production of reports on communications, patient experience and stakeholder feedback

- Support the bid team writing bid text and providing case studies / examples of best practice from around the business

- Support the communications & engagement workstreams of major contract mobilisations

- Develop and embrace ATSL’s strategy on corporate responsibility including minimising our impact on the environment, providing safe places to work and travel for our patients and customers, and playing an active role in the communities in which we serve.

Our ideal Communications and Engagement Executive:

Essential:

- A relevant degree or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area

- Some experience of working in a communications or public relations environment, paid or unpaid

- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, negotiating, networking and persuasive skills

- Superb written skills that can be tailored to different audiences with the ability to pull together comprehensive written material;

- Experience of using Adobe (or equivalent) video editing and design software to produce visually effective and engaging content and materials;

- Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands

- Advanced keyboard skills, use of a range of software

- Ability to work without supervision; able to work on own initiative;

- Excellent organisational skills;

- Excellent time management skills with the ability to re-prioritise

- Confident at interacting with external stakeholders, including community groups, MPs and journalists

Desirable:

- Previous experience working in a similar position within the public or private sector

- Politically and socially aware of the environment in which ATSL operates

- Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis

- Membership of a relevant professional body

Hours and environment

Based in Greater Manchester, however, you may be required to travel to and work at any ATSL location within the UK. Occasional overnight stays may be necessary.

This is a demanding role with a busy workload and long hours, often working to short deadlines.
