Head Chef
Start Date: July 2017
Contract: Full Time
Hours: Monday - Friday
Salary Range: £26,940 - £29,470
We are looking for an energetic and creative Head Chef who will provide high quality food across the college's outlets and at events. You will do this with attention to customer needs, budget constraints and food and waste management procedures.
This is a new post and you will join at an exciting time in the college's development. During the summer of 2017 we are completely refurbishing our kitchen and student social area, so you will be working in a brand new kitchen, with state of the art facilities. We are looking for a person who can, with their team, deliver outstanding customer service.
You will be responsible for the day to day task management of the Sous Chef, Breakfast Chef and Catering Assistants. You will liaise with the Business Manager and students to ensure that the right range and variety of products are available. You will advise on industry developments and Health and Safety regulations. You will be expected to identify potential areas for service improvement and implement changes.
A key element of the role will be to manage equipment and specialist spaces to ensure they are in good working order at all times and to be responsible for the appropriate implementation of Health and Hygiene policy and for ensuring that those involved in food-preparation adhere to the relevant policy and procedures.
The closing date is Monday 05 June 2017 at 9am and interviews will take place 16 June 2017.
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Our commitment is underpinned by robust processes and procedures that seek to maximise opportunity, minimise risk and continuously promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce. All successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) check.
