Quality Technician - Metrology
As an Inspector with a mechanical engineering background, you will be working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working from engineering drawings, you will assist the quality team in identifying non-conforming parts using a range of metrology equipment. You will assist in quality investigations, and conduct process audits.
Responsibilities
• Utilise CMM and metrology equipment (micrometers, calipers, verniers)
• Responsible for investigating, inspecting, and communicating non-conforming parts and assemblies
• Support root cause analysis
• Respond and investigate quality concerns
• Maintain reports which collate information and identify progress in relation to objectives
• Gauge and torque wrench calibration and process auditing.
Behavioural requirements
• Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Develop alternative solutions
• Keep emotions under control while under stressful situations
• Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
• Present numerical data effectively and accurately
Experience / Person
• Experience in using a 3 axis CMM
• Previous manufacturing experience and/or qualifications,
• Experience using micrometers, verniers calipers.
• Understand and interpret technical drawings
• Highly motivated and results orientated
• Excellent communication skills.
• Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel as required,
• PC literate
