Position: PHP Web/Software Developer
Location: Oxford,Oxfordshire
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Benefits: Flexible Working Hours & Free Parking

The PHP Web/Software Developer Role:
Our client is looking for a developer who is fluent in developing web applications using PHP and MySQL. You should also have a good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Git.

Skills & Experience Preferred:

  • Their preferred CMS is WordPress. They sometimes work with others including Drupal, Joomla, CMS Made Simple and some bespoke systems
  • Their preferred MVC framework for application development is Laravel. They have also worked with Symfony, CakePHP and Zend Framework
  • They use Git for version control and deployment
  • Their development servers run Ubuntu. They manage these using the command line (SSH) and Ansible
  • Their live servers run CentOS with cPanel/WHM. These have a web-based control panel, but they sometimes need to use the command line for more advanced configuration

They sometimes work with other technologies too, such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Node.js, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, Microsoft Access, FileMaker Pro.

Additional Experience:
The successful candidate may also have the following technical skills;

 

  • Experience developing and testing web applications
  • Knowledge of Laravel or other PHP frameworks
  • Knowledge of Vue.js or other JavaScript libraries
  • Good debugging skills
  • Experience of SQL database design and optimisation
  • Experience with integrations via REST APIs
