General Description:
The primary function of the Design Engineer is to assist with the design and development of Lee Spring products within our customers applications.
Scope:
The Design Engineer will assist our customers in the development of any new or changing application. They use technical knowledge of our product offerings to grow and support the development of our customers products so that the use of Lee Spring products and services are optimised. They will also offer support in specifying catalogue springs.
Responsibilities:
Offer solutions to engineering issues using our products and services
Design products to customer specifications
Perform design analysis of new and existing designs
Work with customers to refine designs and provide cost-effective manufacturing solutions
Use internal computer systems to generate designs and price comparisons
Work in conjunction with production
Provide customer support both on and off site
Ensure customer satisfaction from design to supply and thereafter
Provide quotes and follow up
Any additional task specified by the company
Prerequisite requirements:
BS in Engineering – Mechanical Engineering or related
3-5 years minimum in varied engineering and sales role
2D or 3D CAD experience (eg AutoCad, Solidworks, Pro-Engineer)
Strong Computer Skills – specifically Microsoft Excel
Willingness to work additional hours
Knowledge of spring design would be an advantage but not necessary
