Contract Support Manager
Contract: full time and permanent
Salary: £34,532- £38,867 per annum
Reporting to: Franchise Delivery Manager
Location: Primary base is Birmingham, but post holder may be required to attend meetings in London
The company is representing local authorities in the region, will be leading franchise management of the new franchise in partnership with the Department for Transport (DfT) as a first step in getting much greater local influence over rail services.
As an important contributor in delivering our challenging agenda, we have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Support Manager who will be responsible for providing contract management support to the Franchise Delivery Manager, delivering the WMR community engagement strategy, and providing organisational support to the WMR executive team.
The role requires an individual who will ensure key documentation remains current and accurate, and that various elements of the obligations in the franchise agreement are delivered by the Train Operating Company (TOC).
The successful applicant will be able to influence and persuade others, work under pressure to deliver to deadlines, and support the management of a strong and collaborative working relationship between WMR and the DfT.
Role Purpose:
The Contract Support Manager post has two key responsibilities: Providing team organisation support to the executive team, and contract management support to the Franchise Delivery Manager. The Contract Support Manager fulfils a key role in ensuring that key documentation remains current and accurate, and that various elements of the obligations in the franchise agreement are delivered by the Train Operating Company (TOC). The role includes many varied tasks such as taking meeting minutes and reviewing written or physical evidence of delivery by the TOC, and providing team support to the WMR executive team.
The Contract Support Manager will engage with the TOC, Transport for West Midlands and WMR Partner Authorities as a matter of course, and will be a key player in the establishment and development of a credible and successful collaboration.
Accountabilities (Deliverables) and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Franchise Delivery Manager and DfT counterparts, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day contract management of the Business Separable Business Unit of the franchise.
