Early Years Teacher

Nursery are seeking Head of Room; typical hours 38 hours a week, 4 days. ;

A beautiful setting in Haywards Heath have a vacancy for a qualified Early Years Teacher. You will be in charge of ensuring we deliver all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage, monitoring all planning as well as supervising and coaching staff. You will be working in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy, working a 38 hour week over 4 days. It is essential you have a positive mind, ability to self-motivate, experience of working in a day nursery and ability to influence staff and their practice. Annual salary is GBP25,000 including a potential additional bonus depending on performance. Role responsibilities: •Have a secure and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of early years practice with children from birth to five and how to put this into practice•Take responsibility for leading play, care and learning (child-led and adult-initiated experiences)•Establish a safe environment and employ practices that promote children's health, safety and physical, mental and emotional well-being•Lead and support staff by helping them to develop and improve their practice•Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and communicate and work in partnership with families, parents/carers, and other professionals•Promote children's rights, equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice •To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of OFSTED requirements and regulations through the Early years Foundation Stage•Assist the Manager in ensuring that our statutory obligations under the Early Years Foundation Stage are adhered to at all times•Be responsible for assessment, monitoring and feedback in relation to the EYFS•To advise the Manager and Directors immediately if the statutory obligations under the Early Years Foundation Stage are compromised in any way•To attend team meeting and training courses as necessaryRequirements: •Early Years Teacher Status _ndash essential•Level 3 qualification in Early Years (BTEC, NVQ, CACHE) _ndash desirable•Child Protection/Safeguarding training - desirable•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
