This trading team is dependent on Information Systems, notably: market analysis applications, position management, price management, trade capture and deal booking applications.

This technical role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, analytical individual. You will be expected to gain a thorough understanding of a highly complex business area.

Key accountability:
- The Trading IT team manages, develops & supports systems for all trading desks across front office. These solutions are essential to allow the traders to transact on the external markets, manage their positions, mark price curves and effectively capture & - book deals.
- Primarily Microsoft technology driven, we manage a framework of systems including web services, MS SQL databases, front end web / client and Excel applications.
- Fast paced team - must be able to work with dynamic requirements in a changing environment.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly to provide both tactical and strategic solutions.

Skills & characteristics required for success in the role:
- This role will be wholly aligned to the Trading desks in the Swindon, Singapore and New York offices. Therefore, there will be a high level of interaction with Traders & Analysts.
- Maintain and develop the existing Excel based solutions
- Continual improvement of existing smaller system solutions, minimising operational risk and re-engineering to more strategic solutions where appropriate
- Have experience of working in an Energy Trading environment and be familiar with the trade life cycle process beneficial but related experience relevant.
- Be able to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and flexibly.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, and be fully experienced at dealing with technical and business representatives at all levels.
- Self-motivated, self-starter, able to prioritise, work under pressure & use own initiative.
- Related business or technical qualification at degree level not essential if experience relevant
- An advanced competence in Excel (hopefully but full training on offer) & VBA; application development using Microsoft .Net technologies .Net 4.0+, C# & SQL Server 2014.
