The role:

Our client is currently looking for an experienced, self-motivated and energetic Architectural Technician hopefully with an Interior Design interest or Bias to join our clients busy team. In return they will provide some incredibly extensive and valuable experience in a high profile environment with experienced and welcoming staff. The role is varied and covers a number of disciplines, and will require serious commitment. Excellent AutoCAD skills and knowledge of UK building legislation are a must, along with an interest in interior design, office accommodation and new ways of working. Our client will be looking to support the right candidate through their professional development and to offer the right person a long rewarding career rather than just a short term job/placement.

Duties:

The Architectural Technician will support our Design Team and lead the development of architectural package for different stages of a project and well as providing technical advice and support to the team.
The role will include day to day liaison with the design team in order to assist the development of design schemes, presentation material, detail drawings and full tender and construction package. Liaising with the client to extract brief and working closely with the contractors to ensure the architectural package is in line with the project scope and compliant with UK construction and Health & Safety legislation.
The individual will also be responsible for supporting our Measured Building Surveying Team with on-site measured surveys producing accurate drawings such as floor plans, elevations, sections and site plans.

Candidate:

The successful candidate should have 5+ years' experience and must be AutoCAD proficient with excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and with experience in UK commercial buildings. Our client is seeking an individual who can roll up their sleeves and offer a valued contribution to our growing team. Your portfolio must demonstrate high level of technical skills and thorough knowledge of building technology, such as construction and detail drawing packages with accompanying schedule of specifications and scope of work. Knowledge of UK building legislation and planning permission application is essential and well as desirable understanding of National Building Specification (NBS). A practical sense of buildability and an understanding of construction costs, experience on site and in contract administration a definite advantage. The candidate must be a good communicator, well organised and a clear thinker.
