Principal Teachers have been approached by a secondary school in the Thirsk area to recruit a qualified teacher experienced in the delivery of Maths and Science to KS3 and KS4 students. The Head Teacher is seeking to appoint a driven and creative teacher to commence a long term position within the school commencing after the May half term. The successful applicant will need to be available on a full time basis to teach Maths and Science on a split timetable covering both subjects across Years 8, 9 and 10.

Based in a vibrant area of Thirsk, the school serves a diverse catchment area. The school is recognised for its commitment to improving attainment for all in addition to its emphasis on supporting children to thrive socially, emotionally and academically. You will need to demonstrate a passion for Maths and Science and an ability to engage students of all abilities through delivering a stimulating and creative curriculum. The successful applicant will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for Maths and Science
Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
A commitment to improving attainment for all students
A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
