Principal Teachers have a requirement for an English Teacher to commence a long term role in a Thirsk secondary school. The Head Teacher has approached PT to appoint a motivated and creative English Teacher to commence as soon as possible on an on going basis. The successful applicant will be required to deliver an engaging curriculum to Key Stage 4 students. You will be teaching Year 10 students both English Language and English Literature with an element of Drama. The position is available on a part time basis.

Based in the Thirsk area, this excellent secondary school has a wealth of resources and a thriving English and Humanities Department. You will be welcomed into a supportive and collaborative team and have access to an array of learning materials. Behaviour across KS3 is very good on the whole and the school has very high expectations. You must possess excellent behaviour management skills to uphold these standards and support the school in their ambitions to move from 'Good' to 'Outstanding'.

The successful applicant will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for English
Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
A commitment to improving attainment for all students
A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
